Drop-In Counselor

Horizons Program is a community support program providing a range of services to seriously and persistently mentally ill adults 18 and older in Dakota County

Horizons Community Support Program is seeking a full-time person for the drop-in counselor position. The individual for this position will be available to work weekdays; and one Saturday along with one weekday evening (Weds).

This position provides services in the drop-in center to adults in Dakota County who are experiencing mental illness. This individual will assist adults who are diagnosed with a serious and persistent mental illness, to access needed mental health, medical, social, educational and vocational services to meet their individual mental health recovery needs. This position also requires coaching and redirecting clients in a social setting. Drop-in staff provides outreach to clients in the community along with effective engagement skills, strong accountability and teamwork.


Experience and Qualification Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess a BA/BS and two years of mental health experience, or MA/MS in human services and one year experience. Must have a valid Minnesota drivers’ license and good driving history.
